DESCRIPTION
The "Nebra Sky" thaler interprets the famous Nebra Sky Disc as an exceptional piece of jewelry. Crafted from 925/- sterling silver, it combines a blackened surface with partially gilded elements. The golden celestial bodies and numerous stars thus stand out impressively from the darker silver.
The Nebra Sky Disc is one of Europe's most significant archaeological finds and shows one of the oldest known concrete depictions of the sky. This historically rich motif makes the thaler a special unique piece with regional and cultural relevance.

MATERIAL
925/- sterling silver is a high-quality silver alloy consisting of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (mostly copper). This admixture makes the material more stable and durable, as pure silver would be too soft for jewelry.
The blackening of silver is usually achieved by targeted chemical oxidation or sulfidation of the surface. This creates a dark layer of silver sulfide, which gives the jewelry its characteristic black hue.
Gilding involves coating sterling silver with a fine layer of real gold. This gives the jewelry the elegant appearance of gold, but it remains more affordable and retains the advantages of the stable silver core.
